Annealing & Stress Relief

To ensure structural integrity, all glass products must undergo annealing—a critical controlled-cooling process.

Why Stress Relief is Essential

During forming, glass undergoes rapid temperature shifts and structural changes, creating internal thermal stress. If left untreated:

Durability is compromised: The glass becomes brittle and loses thermal stability.

Spontaneous Breakage: High internal tension significantly increases the risk of the glass shattering during cooling, transit, or everyday use.

The Annealing Process

The glass travels through a specialized temperature-controlled tunnel (a Lehr). By maintaining a precise thermal gradient, the process:

Neutralizes Tension: Eliminates surface and internal stresses built up during molding.

Strengthens the Matrix: Gradually cools the material to its final, hardened state, ensuring maximum safety and long-term durability
